Selling this on behalf of my Father-in-law. He purchased this new and fired less than one box of ammo in its lifetime. Exact purchase date is unknown, but I have found that the serial number corresponds to a manufacture date of 1968-1975 #6,900,000-#7,499,999. It is in excellent condition and comes with a Weaver scope that was purchased with the rifle, (2) four round magazines, (1) box of Remington ammo that is the same age as the rifle, and the original instruction folder and parts price list.
