Item Description: Remington Woodsmaster 742 with 3-10X44
Took this on a trade a long time ago, never fired it, don't know anything about it, don't want it, don't have a need for it, have no attachment to it.
Looks like it would make someone a perfect Bambi-nator.
The only thing I know is what the original owner told me: this gun was brought to America by his great-great-great grandfather aboard the Mayflower. It was used to slay the deer and turkey for the first Thanksgiving. All 742's were modeled after this one. It was used to cover George Washington when he crossed the Delaware. George Custer's last action was to reach for this gun. Annie Oakley pawned it to buy food for her horse when the great depression struck. Since then it's been used to prop the door open to the supply closet at Mort's Mortuary in Sheboygan, Wisconsin.
Or that guy could of been full of crap, I don't know. It's a really nice freaking rifle and it's a Remmy 742 really what else do you need to know? :-)
