Item Description:
Selling a West Hurley Auto-Ordnance Corporation 1927 A-1 Deluxe rifle,semi-auto in .45ACP. Included are two 50 round drum magazines (for that classic Gangster look); four 30 round stick magazines; and original owners manual. I am asking $2,000 for the rife. I ESTIMATE SHIPPING for the rifle and accessories at $140. Please see last section for more information about shipping. I am willing to do a face to face (FTF) sale. FTF sales must provide a CCP or DL. I am will come to you, if you are within two hours of Brunswick. I am willing to discuss longer distances. This is subject to reason. I am not coming to your house at midnight. I am also selling a Benelli Super Nova 12 gauge pump shotgun and will offer a discount if you buy both.
Here are the details of this package. Pictures are part of the description and additional pictures can be provided. The rifle is in excellent mechanical condition with excellent bore and chamber. I consider this rifle in excellent to very good condition cosmetically. Starting at the muzzle there is a light wear ring around the muzzle. The compensator body has several small scratches and/or wear marks on it. There are three very small scratches on the barrel just behind the compensator. I see no other marks on the barrel and the cooling fins don’t show any wear marks. On the top of the receiver there are wear marks on rear of the ejection port and on the side of the port. The receiver has wear along the bolt handle channel and the bolt handle has wear on the top of it and the high points of the bolt checkering. The left side of the receiver has light scratches, between 3 and 4, in the bluing above the safety selector. These scratches don’t go down to the metal. The left side of the frame has one small scratch above the pistol grip and there are wear marks at the end of the magazine release and on the frame where the release pivots. There are wear marks along the magazine well and guides. On the right side of the frame, there are several small scratches with in the pivot plate. The rear of the receiver has scratches above the frame latch button.
The vertical fore-grip and pistol grip have very light finish wear, and light dents. The butt has one small dent on the bottom. The butt plate has two very light scuff marks.
The rifle comes with two 50 round drum magazines. They are marked Auto-Ordnance Corp New York. I would rate them at 95% (or better) reliability with my reloads of 230 copper plated RN bullets. Failure to feed jams are from the bullet hitting the feed ramp and being cut. It has been years since I ran factory FMJ ammo, but I don’t recall any issues with FMJ. The drum mags are in excellent cosmetic condition with only very light wear marks on the drum bodies. The feed areas and guide ribs show normal wear. Both drums come with the original boxes and the original instruction sheet from Valentine International. Instruction sheets show fold marks and some oil staining. One sheet has owner handwritten note. Also included is a “3rd hand” bolt hold open device which is very helpful in changing a loaded or part loaded drum magazines.
Additionally, here are four blued finished 30 round stick magazines. These magazines have been 100% reliable with all round nose ammo. Three of these magazines are marked THE SEYMOUR PRODUCTS CO, SEYMOUR CONN. The fourth magazine is marked U.S. 30 CARTRIDGE CAL. 45. All four magazines function properly. All four magazines show normal wear with multiple scratches and bluing wear. None have any rust, dents, or deep scratches.
I have the original owners manual which is fair condition. The serial number of the rife is recorded in my handwriting and the model name is circles. No pages are torn or missing, but several are oil stained. I also have the original internal packaging cut out to fit the rifle. I consider this packaging in poor condition.
Regarding shipping: First off, I can only ship to an FFL and will need a copy of the FFL's license. UPS and FedX refusal to accept firearms from individuals, so I will have to ship via the USPS. My estimate is based on the USPS web sight. I would prefer to package the rifle and accessories and get a firm shipping price prior to finalizing the sale. Your FFL may be able to provide pre-paid shipping labels at a better rate than I can get. i am happy to use this shipping method. I plan to ship in two boxes. I will ship the rifle only in one box and the magazines in another box. If you wish, I can ship one drum magazine and one stick magazine with the rifle. The other magazines will be shipped separate. I am not set-up for Pay Pal or other electronic payment. Money Orders only, unless other arrangement made. I understand this may result in multiple money orders..
