Quick history on how solid these guns were built- Ruger made this model to compete for the Military contract which was eventually won by the Beretta M9 model, or at least that is what I read.

Yeah this is a tank of a pistol that your grandkids won't wear out. It has about 2 feet of trigger pull but once you get used to that it's smooth sailing.
