OP, can you expound on this comment. Not a real shotgun expert, but I feel like I need an A5 for my collection. What shells does it take? What does he mean by no steel? Thanks.

It shoots 3 inch magnums or 3 inch Winchester SuperX very well. You can shoot shorter non-magnum shells but you have to adjust the rings..I'm no expert ...I just know if the rings are configured for magnum, it will not cycle shorter weaker loads.

Right, you can shoot 2 3/4" or 3" in this gun. Changing the configuration of the rings is very simple to do.

However, you cannot shoot steel shot out of these old Belgian Brownings and you really shouldn't shoot steel through a full choke anyways. So it is out as a waterfowl gun unless you shoot an alternate non-tox shot like bismuth or hevi, which is just very expensive. And still, full choke is not ideal for waterfowl.

Would be a good turkey gun, though. If it was a Modified choke I'd want it bad.
