Up for sale is my 1983 Mercedes 240D. I really love this car, but I need to make room for other things. It’s in good shape overall, and most importantly; NO RUST!!!!
It runs, though it has a LOT of blow-by, and sometimes it helps to manually shift between 3rd and 4th to prevent it from going straight into 4th from 2nd at high RPMs. The transmission issue is simply a vacuum problem that I never got around to fixing. It also has a dent in the driver-side rear door. Mileage is around 290k
Interior is in good shape; one good rip in the drivers seat, some cracks in the dash, and a couple of small tears in the headliner. Rear power windows work, fronts do not (driver window is “manual.”
I really do love this car, but I don’t have time to give it the TLC it properly deserves.
Recommend trailering due to a vacuum leak in the fuel system (which is currently preventing it from being reliably drivable). I am actively working on tracking down and solving that issue. The blow-by, while annoying, is something I have driven with for months.
I have another engine to go with it. My plan was to swap this motor in. However, time and finances are not on my side. Allegedly 80k miles, with lots of usable/sellable parts!
-A note, in one of the interior photos, the HVAC controls are disassembled. They have been repaired and reassembled. The heat works great! AC is nonexistent unfortunately-
