Item Description: I am selling or partial trading a Like New in Pelican case Beautiful piece of Rugged, Reliable, Uncomplicated American weaponary The Barrett Model 99 with a 29in fluted bbl. It is designed for one thing only: to get the job done wether it be a relatively short range or the longest range job that needs to be done, it will be done accurately every time. The simple design, hard-core construction and surprisingly few moving parts, makes this rifle provide match-winning accuracy time and time again.

Smooth functionality with dead-on accuracy, shot after shot, the Model 99 in .50 BMG is competition ready. At the heart of this robust and accurate bolt action rifle is a one-piece 7000 series aluminum alloy extrusion. A heat-treated steel M1913 rail is attached to the top of the extrusion by closely spaced high-strength bolts. The match grade barrel is pressed and locked into the receiver, creating a solid unitized structure on which to mount a riflescope. The Model 99 barrel is made in a heavier contour to ensure repeatable accuracy.

The bolt is machined from a single piece of S-7 tool steel. The action's strength is exemplified by the 15 bolt lugs that lock into the machined barrel extension. The bolt's few moving parts- the extractor, ejector and firing pin assembly make it reliable and easy to maintain.

I got to shoot this rifle today. My first time shooting a .50 BMG outdoors at reactive targets. It was FUN !!
We blew concrete building blocks to smithereens with one shot (an AK-47 took 8 shots to pulverize an identical block to the same level of destruction.)
We blasted thru a 5/16 steel plate that stopped 7.62 x 39 and 5.56 mm FMJ rounds... the fifty just made a hole in it the size of a nickel.
Shot through a cast iron weight from a weighlifting set. ( But, the AK-47 steel core round also made it through that).

I took one shot from the unsupported standing position (the gun only weighs 28 lbs with the scope and bipod), and being a bullpup, it's not quite as muzzle-heavy as a conventional action would be. You can stand on your own two feet and fire it with reasonable accuracy if you need to.

7 gallons of water in a galvanized steel mop bucket splattered a geyser of water 20 feet in every direction-- the way you'd expect a shaken-up Coke can to splatter when hit with a .22-250 varmint round. We shot pumpkins and watermelon, too.
This gun's got some serious horsepower.

The trigger pull was nice and crisp, and light enough for very good accuracy.

Of course the Nightforce scope was perfectly clear and bright, and seemed top quality.

Recoil was no problem. In the same ballpark as a 12 gauge shotgun with slugs or magnum buckshot or waterfowl loads.

The muzzle brake was amazingly effective. But it did send a pressure wave back towards people standing behind and to the sides of the shooter, and that pressure wave would hit you and rock you. It was loud.

It was extremely fun watching you destroy the metal mop bucket and water, the watermelon, and the 2 cinder blocks that blew apart. I was really surprised that the muzzle break reduced the recoil to that of less then my 7.62x51 ak. if you are standing behind and to the side you can feel the gas come from the rifle with as much recoil as actually shooting the rifle. I want to take it out once more before I have to let it go

Sounds like a blast!
