I have a nice m1 carbine. Serial number 92,000. Universal made 430,000 rifles. Rifles with less than 100.000. Ser # are made from usgi parts.new design above 100,000 made totally different. This is one of the good ones. Ammo not for sale. Meet in canton.

I have one with a 4 digit serial number. Love it, shoots great!

Not all universal are stamped. 100,000 serial number and under are good ones

I’ve had both stamped and USGI parts Universal Carbines. Both shot very well. Much better than an old surplus Standard Products re-import I had that had a ragged out chamber and muzzle. It’s nice to have a pristine commercial barrel if you’re going to be shooting it for accuracy. There are some nice USGI guns out there but they’re getting scarce and have gotten very expensive for a shooter carbine.
