Item Description: Thanks to another ODT member for giving me more info on this rifle. One of the oldies from the collection that I just don't shoot anymore. It's certainly not a collector's rifle, it's a shooter and has seen it's fair share of fun. The rifle is in the original stock, with the original leather sling (from what I can put together, I'm no expert), There is a small crack in the stock that has been repaired (it's solid) right in front of the rear sight, and two holes where a scope had been placed at one point. Otherwise the stock has a few handling marks, but those just add to the charm of an old milsurp. The metal is in good condition and both the rifling and chamber are still strong and without defects. The crown of the muzzle is too. It's taken two hogs for me and driven them to the ground with a single shot. Like most of the rifles made around that time, it is sighted in for the full power 196 grain ammo, and prints high at 100 with the 170gr loads. No rust on the gun, the flash just highlights the patina. The metal has been oiled by me frequently.
In addition to the rifle is also 265 rounds of 8mm mauser. It's a mix of recent manufactured ammo and surplus, with 140 rounds being on stripper clips. All but one box are 196 and 198gr loads, with what looks like a silver tip round as well.
I'm open on trades for common caliber rifles/pistols, but really no interest in .40 s&w unless it is a pretty damn good deal. I can be best reached by PM, but also by text at 770-549-5963. I shouldn't have to say this, but I do work and have a family so don't get all urked if I don't respond in 28.2 seconds. For those that understand that people aren't at your beck and call just because you lower yourself to contact them on the internet, welcome!
