Is it because of the historical significance? Because I believe a bit of that may have been fabricated. I'd just rather be right up front with that.
The only thing I know is what the original owner told me: this gun was brought to America by his great-great-great grandfather aboard the Mayflower. It was used to slay the deer and turkey for the first Thanksgiving. All 742's were modeled after this one. It was used to cover George Washington when he crossed the Delaware. George Custer's last action was to reach for this gun. Annie Oakley pawned it to buy food for her horse when the great depression struck. Since then it's been used to prop the door open to the supply closet at Mort's Mortuary in Sheboygan, Wisconsin.
