From the factory, savage rifles have several problems that can decrease the accuracy potential of a rifle. The face of the action is rough and is not entirely parallel to the action threads. The face of the locking ring also has a rough finish and is not parallel to the recoil lug and action threads. The uneven surfaces result in less than 100% contact between the mating pieces. The stock recoil lug is a stamped piece of metal and varies from .004" to .010" side to side and up and down in width. The bolt face must also be trued and the rear of the bolt thread, the front of the bolt-body and the locking lugs so that all components remain 100% concentric with the chamber and bore.
This rifle has had all of these issues corrected. It's also fitted with a heavy Palma barrel. This rifle was built to use while I waited on my custom build. My New Rifle has been delivered and I no longer have a need for this one. This is a new Crown Ridge Barrell that has no rounds through it. The first barrel was a .38 moa rifle all day every day. The only reason for putting this rifle on the market is the limited stock or chassis options for the savage action.
