Item Description: The Winchester Model 74 has a wonderful history. It was even used during World War II by the British! It is a well-made and accurate 22 rifle. It reminds us of bygone days when rifles were made with heavy stocks, long barrels and solid steel actions. The receiver is tubular and a bit larger than the barrel, with a small slot for the charging handle.
Disassembly is facilitated by removing the bolt stop at the rear of the receiver (push it from right to left). The stock is made from straight grain American Walnut. The safety is mounted on top of the receiver. Cartridges load into the side of the stock once you removed the mag follower from the butt plate.
This is one of several guns I inherited from my father when he passed, and are all in working order. I'm glad to answer any questions. Unless otherwise noted, all rifles/shotguns will come in a case, either leather or canvas. Thank you.
