Hello, i'm planning on taking my father inlaw on a fishing trip while the family is on vacation down there this fall. Would any of you have a prefered charter service for fishing the area?

I like surf fishing. It's a lot of fun. Snag a big red or shark and hang on for the ride.

I don't think there is one right on jekyll. But miss Judy's was a blast when I took a lady friend down there. We caught the mess out of some reds and spec's. Our Captains name was Tommy, but he's moved up to tugboat Captain now. Good luck.

Book well in advance if possible. If you were willing to drive as far as Savannah, you'd do better to head that far South to FL

There are charters operating out of Jekyll but I've not used any. The closest I can recommend from experience is Captain Mark Noble. If he's already booked they will have other options. They are next door on St. Simons.

I prefer Capt Mark because he'll call it if the weather is questionable. Some of these charters will push it to get paid.
