Well my WW1 vintage stock arrived from dupage today. I got this to replace a reproduction stock that was on my 1906 rock island (42' SA barrel) needless to say I'm slightly disappointed with its appearance. While at 150 dollars including sling swivel and butt plate. It looks to be coated with poly and it's got some nice size dings in it. I'm debating on stripping it and applying some linseed oil as the cartouches are not visible (can only see the box outline) what do you guys think strip it down or leave it?

If you strip it , do not sand
Do not use strip eze
Try denatured alcohol
Or citri strip

Better leave and be safe than to damage
