I've had them about every 4-5 years since I was 12. Some have been mild and didn't last long, others have been very painful and lasted up to a week. It feels like you're pissing a sand spur. This region in the kidney stone capital, due to the mineral content of the water.

Get your doctor to give you flomax, it helps. Drink apple juice and hope for the best.

I just spent 6hrs in the Emergency room for mine last night. Pain was unbearable. I've had a few before that I passed on my own with water/beer. This one is a different story and the pain went through my whole body.
