Myself and a buddy was walking across the street carrying a 6 pound redfish going to a fish cleaning table by the subdivision boat ramp and a big retail hawk flew between us and hit the fish trying to steal it..scared the s*** out of us

That's a young red shouldered hawk, different from a red tailed hawk. we have one in our neighborhood too. sure wish he'd thin out the population of chipmunks!! hours just nested and taught three young to fly just across the street. Amazing!!

I remember that I used to have a Red-Shouldered Hawk that would frequent my backyard, but I couldn't figure out why there were still so many squirrels and chipmunks in my yard! Then, one day, I found out why... and was astounded! I saw that sucker pulling up earthworms from the ground and eating them instead! What a killer!!! :-)
