Any of you shoot right hand guns? Grandson is left handed looking to purchase 22lr down road Assuming a left hand will be best. Thanks for any info

I'm a lefty and all my guns are right handed. The biggest difference between lefties and righties is perception. Left handed folks don't have a choice but to learn to operate things designed for right handed people whereas righties can't fathom having to do things left handed. I'm speaking generally of course.

The only things I have that are lefty specific are holster and a guitar.

All the time, not many LH around. M1A, AK47, 10/22, AR15 don't give me any problems. Bolt actions no biggie. A LH would be nice, but as a lefty you get used to it. Only thing rules out is bullpups.

Yeah. Bullpups are a no-go unless the ejection port can be swapped or it's a bottom or forward eject.

Speaking of ejection ports, its imperative that your grandson wear safety glasses at all times. More so as a lefty shooting a right handed gun as there is occasionally blowback from the ejection port.

Good point thanks. This is learning curve for me and his dad

He will soon be 4 yrs hoping he can adapt to right hand.
Start him off with a small .22 bolt action single shot, actually at that age an air rifle might be even better. Either way be sure to not give him any choice about wearing eye protection and ear protection. My tinnitus is bothering me as I type this and it's attributable to shooting with no hearing protection.

I shoot Long guns left handed and handguns right handed. All my guns are right handed. Been shooting this way for about 55 years or so, with no problem. My left eye is dominate.i tried left hand bolt rife years ago but can't seem to work it out so I'll stick with right handed guns.
