Guys, I came across this at an estate sale a few yrs ago and thought it was neat so I bought it. It is a custom antique ship hatch coffee table. The story behind it was that it was purchased from a naval commander who said it was from the remains of a civil warship. The only markings on it are the numbers 969 on both ends. I have tried to research it but cannot find anything on it. I left a message for the curator of the Kennesaw Civil War Museum today to try to assist. The hatch is very old and the ornate maritime theme support and legs seem antique. If you know anything about these let me know. Not wanting to sell but would just like more info on its history.
