I bought a 2014 DURAMAX a few years ago. It only had 42k miles and looked/drove like a new truck. Bone stock.
I put a few thousand mikes on it and then had it tuned and deleted. It runs better and gets better fuel mileage now.
I plan to keep this truck for 10 years. If I live that long lol.
People still stop me today and compliment the truck...over 7 yrs old but don’t look it.
My concern is this...CP4 fuel pump.
I had a diesel mechanic recommend replacing it with the previous CP3 pump.
According to the mechanic the CP4 pump on the LML has proven unreliable and if/when it fails the motor damage is catastrophic...like 10k to 15k.
The mechanic’s quote to replace the pump and “bulletproof” the motor is over $5k!
So, do I roll the dice and hope pump doesn’t fail or replace pump?
Any Duramax mechanic’s out there? $5k sounds like a lot to replace a fuel pump.
Dodge and Ford owners comments will be tolerated but not really helpful lol.

Very common for extra insurance on these LMLs. If you aren’t going to spend the money to do the cp3… at a minimum do a fuel pump/filter system like an air dog and a Fass and use a fuel additive. Lots of info on duramaxforum.

I agree you never know. Hell my 2 year old 23hp Briggs just broke a connecting rod thank goodness under warranty. I don’t abuse my equipment or my vehicles so keep fingers crossed and do regular maintenance and hope they keep running

I have a guy in centre alabama that will do it for 3-3500. Thats the fuel pump included. If you want to buy your own pump and take it to him then he charges around $100 per hour for work. I know its a long drive but hes good and everyone i have found around here charges way more due to the heavy demand of diesels these days. Since you are already tuned/deleted it shouldnt be more than a 6 hour job. I am pretty sure you have to have a lift pump for the cp3 to work at its max capacity so hopefully you already have that done.
My 2016 lml was headed out there after the first of the year until some drunk ran across my driveway and totaled mine in the middle of the night
