What am I missing? Dos or donts?

Double vehicle doors in the entrance, one not enough.
Run power circuits, water lines so they won't freeze, and run some air lines with convenient spots to plug in air hoses.

Exterior lights as well.

When you roof the building, set it up so the roof overhangs the walls on all sides to keep water off the exterior walls and away from the foundation/slab.

There is a metal building manufacturer in Jackson Ga., a stone's throw from Fresh Air BBQ. They sell "scratch and dent" materials, if you know what I mean. :thumb:

I pass by there going to hunting camp, a lot of inventory

They store the rolls of metal inside one of the many buildings, along with the forming machinery. If you drive to the back of the property, you realize just how huge an operation it really is.

Oh, and the gals that take your money are very pleasant.

That's a big building. You have lots of options in "metal" buildings, so do a little leg work on your long term plans. I built a 12' clear height 30' x 40', two 10' x 10' roll-up doors, one 3'0" walk through, on a concrete slab from a VersaTube kit and couldn't have done it without the use of my tractor and front end loader to reach the 17' center height. It was also a bear pulling 16' metal roofing by myself, so I designed a mechanical pulley system on the tractor front end loader. I wanted to prove that I could complete the building alone... my wife and kids weren't too happy about it, but I did it, even when the manufacturer said it couldn't be done. The building, doors, concrete, upgraded trim, set of scaffolding, a couple of new ladders, and insulation, with only my labor (other than some day labor to help with concrete finishing), was under $18k, which was several thousand cheaper than any quotes for someone else to do it. The building is now 5 years old and looks as good today as when it was built. Sorry about the long post, but here is a summary of my adventures:

1) Finished setting trusses using my front end loader.

2) Front of building framed for 10 x 10 doors.

3) About halfway finished (or so I thought)

4) My "mechanical helper" pulley system for 16' roof panels.

5) Where is @SafeCracka when you need him? My tractor struggled with the 1860's safe!

6) Finished 30 x 40 x 12 foot... oh what a relief it was!
