I'm looking to buy a M1 Garand that is service grade or better. I perfer one that was from the CMP.

I'm willing to pay $750 for a service grade or $950 for a special grade. Preferrably walnut for the special grade.

Feel free to contact even if you want to negotiate.

Welcome to the ODT, Mike.

I don't know how much you know about the CMP and Garand rifle sales. I don't know much, but there are some facts that are worth noting;

1. The CMP announced some months ago that they miight run out of Garands in 2017. It seems there followed a flood of orders to the extent that the wait time became 4 plus months to have your order filled.

2. In May I believe it was, they announced that they would not accept any more Garand orders after a given date which was about May 15th. Except for M1D's and M1 Specials.

3. Recently some of the orders that were mailed by individuals in late February and early March were filled with rifles with new stocks. I believe this indicates they are running out of used stocks.

4. After all the orders they have now are filled, they may or may not have any more Garands and what few they might get, they may only offer them to the public through their auction site.

I have pointed out these facts to say that I do have a CMP services grade that I might sell except considering the unknown supply of Garands and how that may affect prices, I am not about to price it at this time. Far be it for me advise anyone on purchasing a Garand, but I do know that if I were in the market for a Garand, I would be on one of the ones for sale on the ODT.

I hope you have good luck in finding a Garand. Mtnsmith
