I traded into what research indicates is an older Fiberglass GI stock that Springfield filled (selected notch), refinished, and installed on previous models of M1a's. Please correct me if I'm wrong.Problem is the rifle will not seat in the stock due to raised areas (see pic) where reciever meets the stock. Trigger group will not latch. I could probably crank it in with a tool. Can I sand a little material off the raised pads?
