Hey- I just wanted to tell everybody that FRYS has MagicJackPLus on sale now.It's 39.95. I was leery at first, but this thing works like a charm. AT&T has been raising my rates on the internet,and pestering me to get their VOIP Phone.I'm a retired MCSE AND A+ certified PC Tech, and I'm impressed with this.
It comes with 6 months free service, and does not require a computer to work except for initial set-up..After that it requires no computer.It's 29.95 a year to pay by the year, or 19.95 a year, if you buy a 5 year plan.
The service depart is closed now, so I have to wait to find out how to set-up an account.But this thing works,and Frys is good about refunds. I'd get one, and try it while they're on sale.You can always take it back, if you don't like it.
The only flaw I've seen is that it just lists the caller number,and not the name.I set it up in 15 minutes, so it's not registered yet.
Just a heads up on this, you can always take it back.
This thing will save me a grand a year.
P.S. I've had a few beers, and have called myself from one phone to the other, and it's crystal clear.So, this is just a first impression.I think it's a keeper.You can transfer your old number, but I think they charge 20 bucks for that.
