Latest build - I had a few parts floating around and a co worker had a complete plum crazy lower that he was not plum crazy about, so I picked it up from him and decided to use it for a dedicated .22 build. Did that and was impressed with it a bit. Decided from all the talk about if it's good to use with .223/556 why not give it a whirl. Worst case scenario it breaks and I replace it with an aluminum lower (which i have a few stashed away anyway).
So.... I look through my parts bin. Have this nice 16" colt lightweight barrel with YHM FH on it. Pick up a MI free float railed HG with accessory rails new in the box from another board for 90 shipped. Have a bolt, so pick up a new bolt carrier for 81 shipped from BCM. Had the sights and upper. Total spent out of pocket: about 300 including the plum crazy complete lower.
Weight: Not sure at the moment, but it is LIGHT! I guestimate under 6lbs WITH a fully loaded pmag (30 rds). Will weigh it on the WII and post to this thread in this post with update. Fired 120 rounds so far through it - combo of Brown bear and Wolf 55gr. Not one issue at all. ran like a top. No light primer strikes, no jams, no double feeds or FTE or FTF. Worked - every time. The lower had about 500 rounds of .22 through it before I did the swap to .223.
