Do you want leather or canvas?Ok folks, what the heck is the actual name for a rifle sling that attaches to the rifle at 1 point, and to the upper arm at the other point? Often used in completion shooting(4h, cmp).
I know of only 3 examples I can purchase but I'm looking to see what other options exist, and for the life of me I can't find the actual name for them.
Searching single point sling gives nothing but single point AR slings. I saw someone call them "loop slings", but searching that only comes up slings that attach with no swivel points.
Leather is a "1917 sling" or M1907.

Canvas are frequently named "USGI Sling" or "USGI Type 14 or Type 16 Sling" or "loop sling".

I recommend canvas, as nylon tends to be stretchy. If you attend an Appleseed training event they'll show you how to use it.
I have had good results with the Magpul RLS sling as well.
