How long should you deal with a buyer? Short version: someone wanted a pistol I'm selling. Buyer and I just can't seem to link up, and I'm leaving town for awhile on Friday. I advised tge buyer about this, but haven't gotten a response. So, the question is, do I sell to another buyer? Just don't want to be a jerk.

If no meet set up, then sell it to someone else. Might be cool of you to give him a last chance, but otherwise, you are losing other sale opportunities.

Really need more information to make a call on this. I have held a firearm for 3 weeks before just to help a guy out. Then again I have also refused to hold a firearm for other buyers especially when I already had other offers.

If you have to sell now then tell the prospect "first cash in hand".
Heck I wanted something here one morning but couldn't get there until after work. Seller was clear, he would not wait, not even those hours (and I was driving to HIM in remote Georgia). I didn't hold it against him (ok maybe for just that day I did. :) ).
Your item, your rules. Just be open and honest about it.
