I am currently in the market for a 24-64 gun safe. I'm looking at anywhere from 45 minutes to 90 minutes in fire protection. I'd like a mechanical lock or an electronic lock with mechanical backup. It will also need to be less than 36" wide. I am new to safe buying and just need some advice/pointers. Does anyone have a certain brand or store recommendation. My research leads me to believe Tractor Supply & Academy have the best safes for the money. I'm trying to keep spending under $1,000 out the door. Also, am I better off trying to load and tote a 400-800lb safe with help of a few strong buddies, or bite the bullet and get help from our ODT safe guy?
