New to Canton, can’t find a local outdoor range!

I have to side with OttoMan OttoMan . Even though I have a range on my property, I'm always happy to visit Wilson Shoals. Excellent facility. Better to spend a little gas money than pay ridiculous membership fees.
I really appreciate the warm welcomes and recommendations everyone. I was really hoping to find some public land or a national forest with a set location and back stop. Wilson Shoals looks beautiful OttoMan OttoMan ! I was hoping to find an area more private though, I want to bump fire a new toy because she needs a lot of breaking in. Wanted to do some holster draw transition drills too. I hate rapid firing when other people are around just trying to focus on accuracy. Last thing I want to do is be an inconsiderate shooter and ruin someone else’s time. Hopefully I make some friends soon that have some space on their property for some plinking! Stay blessed everyone

Hey ya’ll
Blessed to discover this forum, hope everyone’s having a great day. I’m new to the area and have had surprising trouble discovering an outdoor range. I’m personally not a fan of indoor shooting, and love the freedom of practicing close distance drills and drawing from the holster. I live in a subdivision in between Canton and Cumming (30115). The closest places I’ve discovered are two WMA’s (Chestnut & Wilson) both over an hour away. Is there public land I can shoot on close by? Also wondering if anyone knows what “greenhornshooting.com” is. It pops up as a range on google maps but I drove by and it sure doesn’t look like one. Haven’t received a call back from the number either. If anyone has any recommendations I would greatly appreciate it, thank you!
Welcome

Cohutta WMA and Johns Mt WMAs have outdoor ranges. Check the regs. Get the app or go to Chatsworth and join at the office.$25 a year. Go early morning during the week and you may have it to yourself for a while. The indoor ranges and supervised outdoor ranges won`t allow you to draw and shoot or do anything I call tactical. Cohutta and Johns dont have supervision, at least Ive never seen anyone there in that capacity.
