That shiny new alternator (at 3 o'clock the photo) is why Old Bessy has a modern drive line. There are 2 alternator failure modes, no electricity and way too much! This one failed to too much on today's trip to camp.

First indication of trouble was the stereo cutting out...looked at the dash and she's pegged past 16 volts.

Pulled in at O'Reilly's, 25 minutes later a new one installed, problem solved, no damage to the cars systems or burned components or bulged battery.

Had it been an 88 year old generator i'd be stuck on the road for a tow and perhaps fire damage to the harness.

As it is, we are at TM Hunting Properties for the commencement of our 16th Season with Matt and his fine crew. C'meer deer, theys a Rifleman here!

Modern on the shelf drive lines and accessories are best for daily drivers. Don't let purists and their smack talk shame ya into getting stuck or burning up a good car.

Old Bessy, She rides eternal, shiny and chrome.
