Let's say you are looking to break into the piggy bank to buy the Colt Python you always dreamed of owning. Would most of you looking to buy a Python rather pay a lower cost like $2200 for one with some wear and some scratches in the blued finish so you could enjoy shooting without worrying about the finish OR would you rather buy one that is MINT as an investment for say $3000-3400?

When they are in mint condition it doesn't mean you cant shoot them.
ive never owned on. but having read about them even turning the cylinder can cause even the faintest of turn lines which leads to loss in value. so if you wanted to have the gun as an investment than shooting it wouldn't really be an option.

So your answer is the lower priced one already showing wear in the finish so you could enjoy shooting it without worrying about a scratch or turn line?

I consider myself a gun enthusiast rather than a collector. But i have a few guns in near mint condition that occasionally will be shot! But a high end python in mint condition I'd keep on a pedestal to enjoy looking at. I can and do own firearms i don't shoot, and I enjoy them just the same, if not more than my shooters.
