Public school alternatives

Both mine went private from Kindergarten.

Good bang for the buck on some schools early on, but it was a waste of money from 7th onward.

Some private schools are relatively cheap, some are $36k per kid per year.

Look into moving to an area with a good school district, say East Cobb County, Alpharetta, Jefferson, or Buford.

Much cheaper than paying for many years of school.

Both of my boys went to Milton High school (Alpharetta), 1 is still there. I had no clue the value of a great school until I was part of it, Milton is a fantastic high school. Many parents switch their kids from private to public here once their kids reach high school age.

Fully depends on your child. Schooling is expensive though. My wife's side of the family are all educators. Mainly various private schools in the area. I went to public schools, homeschooled 2 years, and then attended a private high school. They all have their own benefits and downfalls.

As far as drugs, fights, etc - they exist in most all schools. In most any group of kids for that matter. It's part of life. Be involved with your kid's friends.

Depends on what’s available near you

We sent our kids to a “classical Christian school “

The Classical education model was a very good fit for our kids

If you think you found something better than a college educated public school teacher that has passed all the certification tests for competences l am all in to learn about it. When children enjoy reading books they give zero ****s about your opinions.......ask me how I know.

There are part-time schools for kids that are legally considered homeschooled but the parents don't know enough high school level science and math to teach those subjects so you can send your kids somewhere for that kind of education (just a couple days a week?) and also some of them offer group sports, theater / drama, and other activities kids might miss out on at home.
