My son's Birthday is Dec 7. As a Navy vet (SEABEE) I told him it was planned that way.....
And the Seabees were a result of Pearl being destroyed. Admiral Ben Morrell said the Navy needed a construction force to rebuild in the event of a catastrophy (Pearl Harbor). They recruited 17 to about 70. Rank based on experience.
