Whats the difference?

The primary difference, so far as I know, is that the 11-87 has a 3" chamber, whereas the older 1100 has only a 2.75" chamber.And The 11-87 has a pressure compensating system that allows a wider selection of low pressure shells. I could be wrong about it tho...
