Remington 742 scope issue

Traded into a nice Remington 742, guns functions flawlessly not the issue. I bought a set of Talley one piece rings to mount a new Leupold 3x9x50. Installed it all and went to boresight the scope. Couldn’t make enough adjustment left to boresight it fully, shot it from a bench and not even close to paper. Scope is noticeably off center to the right just so slightly. Any ideas what the issue may be? Try different rings? Any advice will help. I’ve mounted dozens of scopes and zeroed in without issue.

I’ve ordered a set. I’m going to reach out to Talley and see if they will send me another set.

It's might be a crazy idea, but have you tried turning the rings around 180 degrees?
