I'm looking to buy or trade for a Sharps falling block rifle, prefer one with double-set triggers and rear tang sight. Only interested in 45-70 caliber.

Please PM pics and let me know what you have. Thanks!

Hey alleycat alleycat , I was fiddlefartin' around at lunch today and went into Franklin's (yeah, i know) lookin' for some Bore Butter. I thought they'd have it for sure (wrong). Anyway, while walkin' around and checking out a few rifles, I noticed they had a Sharps. I know it's a long way from your place but..............
What they have is an Uberti, pistol grip stock, no tang sight, and looked to be a 34" barrel.
It is a 45/70. Got a sticker on it of $1900.

I bought my Taylor & Co. Sharps at Mule Camp in Gainesville probably 17 years ago. Mine looks like Quigley's. Gave an extra $300 or so for the target sights. Got the whole shebang for under $1500.......

partsman partsman or Rolan_Kraps Rolan_Kraps might be able to tell you when/where the next big SASS match is and if there will be any vendors that might have some 1874's.

HTH brother. Oh, and keep yer powder dry! :D

Normally the State level Championship matches of the Single Action Shooting Society (SASS) will have a long range side match and would be a good opportunity to see some action and talk with folks in the know. The Georgia State Championship is held in May at the South River Gun Club. You can find more info on Cowboy Action Shooting at www.sassnet.com
