I watched a guy die from a rifle shot to the pelvis. There's a lot of big, important blood pipes running around down there. Additionally since the pelvic rim is weight bearing, breaking it will certainly put someone on the ground while they bleed out.

I've always said LEO training headshots was folly. It's hard to hit, even standing still. Targets should include the pelvic girdle, and that should be one of two failure to stop drills incorporated into basic qual/requal.

Head shots are for movies and snipers, lower extremities are instantly disabling (primary goal get them out of the fight), extremely painful and have a high probability of being fatal.
