I bought a new rail attachment that came with a sling mount stud. I've reached out for a possible return, but I'd like to ask the community here if they feel I can remedy this own my own. As you can see in the picture, the stud when fully screwed in is not flush which is resulting in my sling being anchored at an angle. It's as if the manufacturer either under or over tapped by a quarter turn or so... Initially I thought I would just run with it but it is resulting in the sling digging into my shoulder. I was thinking of backing out the stud by a quarter turn and soaking it with a generous amount of loctite, or possibly putting some kind of lock-washer on it. I wasn't sure if the loctite would hold up considering the amount of movement and torque that would happen whenever the firearm is being carried by the sling. Thoughts?

Take the stud to the hardware store and get a few different thickness lockwashers. After finding the right one, if it still works loose, use a low strength lock tite.
