A lota truth there. I have and had a Trane in my old home. It was original. Never, I mean never a problem. Our heating and air guy found out I had a camper. He wanted it bad. It wasn't for sale, but he offered a new upgraded unit installed for it. It seemed like a good trade. Our unit was nearly 30yrs old. We did have a little trouble with the new one. But it was a blessing we did the trade when we went to sell the house. Our current home has one too. We've had some trouble with it as well. But I know it was used heavy until we bought the house. Fortunately they were and are both under warrantyI have a house built in '99 with the original Trane unit, that won't stop.
A 2022 HVAC by Rudd that gets worked on every year for the last 3.
I finally made the HVAC company repair it correctly this time.
So, it's not the age, it's the usage, care and quality.
Newer houses aren't built better then the older houses left standing. Lol.
Just get an inspection either way, but make sure the inspector knows what they are doing. They can make it seem like the end of the world and still not have a clue. In Ga a home inspector is not licensed or certified thru anything, so anybody can claim to be one and not know the first thing about house building.
