T/C Performance Center LRR 6.5 Creedmoor

Had one of these in the shop this morning, chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor, going over it for a student who is going to be training with me this weekend. Seems like a nice rifle, can’t wait to see what it will do.

Bolt was very smooth, with 3 lugs, and I like the fact that the bolt is riding back and forth on the bolt body and not the lugs. Makes it feel smoother and more solid. The lugs are the same width as the main bolt body (or maybe slightly smaller), instead of the design of rifles like the Remington 700 where the bolt lugs stood out wider than the bolt body.

Takes standard AR pistol grips and AICS magazines.

Looks like they sell for a hair over $1000, which is a great price on a rifle built this well. We’ll see how well she shoots.

Scope is a Leupold VX-6HD 4-24x52mm. I haven’t had one of those on the range yet, so I’m curious how it performs.

So how would something like this compare to something like a Savage 10BA/whatever? Seen any of these come through your classes?

My full opinion will have to wait until I see it in action, but from what I saw I like it much better than the Savage. Bolt was smoother than the RPR.

This rifle is a shootin’ sumbitch! It didn’t fit me very well as the stock was adjusted for the owner and I didn’t want to mess with it. I shot a 3-shot, almost perfectly 1 hole, group with it. The student shot several 3 and 5 shot groups that were almost as good. Ammo was Hornady Match 140grn ELD.

I’ve had a couple of 6.5’s, and a .308 show up in my classes. All 3 shot fantastically well. 3 aren’t a reliable cross section of a product line, but I’ve been impressed so far.

NICE. I had the wrong thread. But I like it. Think I'll dodge the critics tonight. Time for Green Acres anyway haha.
