Well I had the great idea to improve on John browning design for the 1903/1908 Colt hammerless. I did all the pre- measurements to have a 1911 style mag release installed on a 1903 colt. I tried to find a gunsmith here in ga but everyone I talked to turned me down even after I told them I had donar frame they could ruin if need be. Well I contacted Mr Kent Singletary @ KS Custom. I Called and spoke to Kent and after explaining my idea and that I have donor frame he took on the challenge. He emailed me and let me know I off by .001 of an inch on my measurement's. Well as seen in the photos above this is the completed prototype, the VERY FIRST 1903 colt hammerless redesigned with a 1911 (colt mustang) mag release. Now do not get up set by this being done to a priceless collector gun, it is pitted and had no finish left and the other two 1903 and 1908 colts I am having done to are shooters as well, pitted and no finish left, I would not do this to a collector grade gun .
