Nope, them springs will settle and it will rub on the rear tires.

Been there, done that with a load of granite dust. Started in Elberton with a 3/4 bed full, had to get rid of almost half by the time we were 20 miles to home.

Shovel out 15 shovels, get another mile or so, repeat.........
 
Had a '79 model 2500 4x4 manual transmission with a 6" lift underneath.
I'd haul 2 full pallets of sandblast sand in the back. Often.

The steering was a bit different when loaded, and the hood got a bit higher off the ground, but the truck never complained.

That'd be 6000# if your wondering.
Plus all the crap I kept in the tool box.
