Time to trade in your 1911s?

I'm offering free storage for anyone looking to get rid of those awful things. I will even cover the shipping because I'm just that kind of guy. :D

When my 1911 has it's first failure I'll let you know. Only stoppages I've ever had is because I forgot to put my booster in my suppressor once. I've even been thrown into sand with it and it continued to function. That includes steel case, fmj, and hollow points too.

I've never had problems with the platform. However, I do appreciate the weight and mag capacity of a polymer pistol. Oh- and since my sweat is as corrosive as alien blood, metal frames do not play well with my sweaty hands.

I have a Kimber custom shop that my wife bought me about 20 years ago and it's been a champ man... a couple of failures over who knows how many rounds (my Glocks, etc. have AT least that many failures) so I don't know? Maybe it's just clueless owners that treat 1911s like Glocks (never clean, etc)?

I don't really know for sure, I just know mine works, even dirty. I'm probably near 1k rounds with the Remington 1911 now.

I've had issues with SIG 1911's being picky with ammo and Dan Wesson had feeding issues due to the magazines. Now my Wilson Combat 1911 has NEVER had an issue ever. It'll eat anything and runs like a champ even when it's dirty. That's the real downfall of the 1911. You have to spend a lot of money to get Glock reliability in a 1911 for the most part.

Do a 2000 round test like they did on the G43 and see what happens with a 1911. I'd bet 99% will fail well before the half way mark. That's coming from a hard core 1911 guy too.
