Tips for sharpening? **warning** noob : )

Lansky makes a great affordable product- I use their basic system with an added polishing stone (yellow plastic backer). A 20 degree angle makes for a heck of a sharp pocket knife.
I also recommend stropping against a leather belt to break off the wire edge.
you guys can use all the stupid sharpening systems you want, but these do nothing for good cutting. yeah, some of them may give you an ok start at sharpening a knife, but none of them will give you a good cutting edge, unless you just really have no clue of what a decent edge is.
i use this method, though i take it 2 steps further. i use the basic process in this video, then afterwards i strop on newspaper. once im done with the newspaper, i get a piece of glossy paper out of the bass pro catalog and strop again. the end result is so sharp you can not shave with it at all, without taking the skin off too.
