All fun and games aside, today as usual, wearing my personal protective equipment I was driving home a fastener and the bit shattered, striking my safety glasses hard. Glass saved me from possibly losing an eye. Don’t let people mock you and call you a pussy. Wear your safety gear! God bless and be safe. 8

Amen !!
I always wear safety equipment…..been working on cars for 40+yrs and have seen all kinds of injury done to folks !
Bad thing is I worked construction for decades without eye protection. Wasn't smart. I wore glasses as a kid, then again as an older adult. Since I started as an adult, I wear polycarb lenses. I had a piece of glass go through my eyeball when I was 2 1/2yrs old. Didn't use that eye much for most of my life. Not until my last eye Dr. started working with me. He taught me more about my eyes than any other Dr I ever had. I started having to train my brain to receive information from that eye. When I got my cataract surgery, it truly was a miracle. My surgeon told me he didn't know what he could do with the buckle in my eye and all. I told him to just do the best he could. I left out of surgery looking through a perforated patch. I could tell I could see out of that eye then. I found out I did use it for depth perception. As I was stepping off the curb after surgery I had to reach out with my foot to feel the pavement with the eye patch on. I never let that eye slow me down much. If there was something I wanted to do, I figured out how to do it. After my heart attack I started calling myself Timex.......

My eyes were screwed up from birth. I have had so many different surgeries and procedures done on them it’s not funny. They aren’t too bad right now….but anyone who knows me knows they are screwed up, it’s very easy to tell just by looking at them ! lol.

That's how I viewed myself a good part of my life. Turns out, I don't think people notice. My wife says she doesn't.:noidea:I know when I was younger, my Dad could tell when I was tired. My eye would come in towards my noise. I haven't looked in a while, but looking in the mirror I could tell. Then I have to replace the mirror......🤣
