The Federal government has far exceeded it’s powers and controls the states instead of the states controlling the federal government. Ben Franklin warned us and slowly over the years states have given their power over in exchange for federal government programs which money is tied to i.e. education, welfare as well as allowing fed 3 letter agencies control within the states.
Look at what is happening to Texas where the federal government refuses to enforce it’s own immigration laws and tell Texas they are not allowed to stop the invasion. The fed cares nothing about the states and only exists to feed itself and yet Americans refuse to wake up and see the greatest threat to their liberty is in DC not Moscow or Bejing.
What makes you think the State governments should be powerful? The federal Constitution has protections for the individual citizen written into it that are being ignored by both the Federal AND State governments. The solution is not shifting power to the States. It's restricting power on all governmental bodies. I firmly believe that about 90% of all laws, Federal, State and Local, are actually unconstitutional. The Federal government has far exceeded it’s powers and controls the states instead of the states controlling the federal government. "Rightful liberty is unobstructed action according to our will within limits drawn around us by the equal rights of others. I do not add 'within the limits of the law' because law is often but the tyrant's will, and always so when it violates the rights of the individual."
Thomas Jefferson
Think about Jefferson's meaning in this statement. Anything that does not conform to it is unconstitutional. That's huge.
