I recently went to a local UPS store to send off a package. Within 24 hours I received a text with a link saying there was a problem with my delivery. I clicked the link since it was a cell phone and not a computer. It looked legit except for the text address, that was debatable. The link wanted me to forward them .03 cents on my credit card. NO WAY. I knew it was a scam. I went to the store and talked to a manager/owner, who was aware of the scam. If you get a scam almost immediately after a purchase, It`s most likely perpetrated by an employee, or the business computer was already hacked. The manager was courteous, but not interested in doing anything further. A few years ago the same thing happened when my wife visited a medical facility in Cartersville. Right after the visit someone was ordering credit cards in our name, but not our address. Local LEOS didn`t want anytthing to do with it. I won`t go into the details, but we worked our own case. We found the address the cards were going to in Cartersville.(government housing). We filed a report in Paulding, where we live, and Paulding sheriff sent it to Cartersville. It ended up in the DA`s office. They served a search warrant at the address we gave them and found a plethora of credit cards. Other victims came to light. The info was stolen by an employee in the medical facility my wife visited. We followed it through the court and two people were convicted and served time. Thank you Judge Scott Smith. After the court was over the Assistance District Attorney shook my hand and said, " We were glad to finally get one of these. Thank you". Be careful out there.
