In a word, Hell Yes! OK, that's two words, but you get the idea. This shotgun is a great deal at $650.00 and is absolutely beautiful, shoots like a dream and has almost NO recoil while not giving up a thing in short to mid range performance.
Seriously, I think the 28ga is way under rated by most people and that's a pity. I have now shot the 28 hunting dove and shooting skeet and I can't tell any difference in performance from my 12ga. My initial experience was with an Over/Under and it was great, but the SA-08 is a gas operated semi, so the recoil is almost nonexistent. I'm sure that a 12ga will give you an advantage when you're stretching it out, but anything within 35 yards is just a dead with a 28 as with a 12.
If you want a light weight (5.5lbs), low recoil, bird busting beauty of a shotgun, take a close look at this little number from Weatherby. It's a real winner.
