What Am I Missing?

So I was looking In to getting an overpriced wallet and saw they had a sweepstakes going on and under the official rules it says no purchase necessary and that buying something will not increase your chances of winning, yet just below that it explains how many entries you get for certain purchases. What am I missing? Seems like a contradiction.

No idea what scam they're running, but I have one in OD green with the metal money clip I'd just give you. Too small for my liking and kept falling out when running skid steers/excavators so went back to leather bifold.

Don’t know if it’s a “scam” per day as I’m pretty sure they are a legitimate company, but those rules seemed liked they contradicted each other. And I appreciate the offer! I’ll let you know if I don’t give in to the red magma looking one.

Each ticket has the same chance of winning, so the free ticket has the same chance as a purchased ticket. You can spend money to get more tickets, but each ticket has the same probability of winning. I agree it sounds odd, but it is part of the leagalease they are required to put in there by law.

I mean that makes sense and that is well said, but I still don’t agree that buying extra entries won’t give you any better chances. That one free entry may have the same chance technically, but 1,000 entries is favored for winning over 1 entry.
