I saw the Benny Johnson video about this yesterday. There's a very good reason why Ford sold off their interests in Jag/Land Rover over 15 years ago. They saw the losing writing on the wall. I got to drive both brands when I was at the port and I can tell you that they had problems with electricals and throwing codes right off the ship. And they were ALL well over $100K in 2018 dollars. I would bet those same ones I drove are already at auctions or collecting dust on used lots now. If anything depreciates worse than Dodge it's Jag/Land Rover. And that's because everyone knows they make overpriced junk.

And now they've made it worse with the super woke ad that didn't even have a car in it. I predict that they will soon go the way of the now extinct Saab company. They certainly deserve to.
Those old Jags were fine as long as you were real tight with an English/Euro mechanic. I'll be the first to admit that when I was a teenager I wanted an XJS more than pretty much anything I can remember. And the old pre 87 XJ6 was the only four door sedan I ever wanted. At least those models had unique style to go along with all the quirks and expense. They just wanted to return to the days of reliable Lucas electrical systems and Girling brake parts.
Your comment is similar to what Benny Johnson said. He asked why Jag wouldn't try to identify with the upscale or even wannabe upscale 007 Bond fans and the brands history with that.Jaguar hasn't been 'all that' for a while. Its success was based on historical momentum.
