I'm guessing semi-automatic only because it uses a magazine, but I really have no idea what it's for. I'm sure this will be a easy answer for some of you guys! Thanks Bob

MI carbine? That's what my .30 Carbine trigger group looks like, I think. Let me search the 'net for some pics for comparison.
I don't feel like digging mine out of the safe and disassembling it.

YEAH, it's the M1 Carbine.
See many pics of both stripped and assembled trigger groups from the Riverbank Armory Parts website:

P.S. Note that there were many variations of the M1 Carbine over the years. Slightly different safeties, different shapes of the metal around the magazine well, but you can tell they're all for the M1 Carbine.

Here's a YouTube video about this trigger group.

Okay, that one you have seems to have an extra part in there that I don't recognize.

It looks like the "disconnector" for an M2 (select-fire) carbine.
The disconnector, and the lever that goes along with it, are parts that are only needed for fully-automatic shooting.
It keeps the hammer from following the bolt forward. It won't let the hammer fall again until the bolt is back fully forward and locked from the previous shot.

I'm more likely to agree with the M2.

Edit, found the reference, it's for an M2.
